$18.00 - $22.00
By request, we're making available the remainder of the prints left over from previous sales. In this sale you'll find both the color proofs we reviewed as part of the printing process, and original run prints held back in case they were needed as replacements because of shipping damage. Printer's Proofs (P/P) are numbered out of 5. Because these are true proofs, note that colors may vary slightly from the final edition. All numbered prints are part of the original Edition runs. These are not reprints! Available until sold out.

$18.00
The original sign after which this reproduction is modeled was used on New York trains to announce games at the Polo Grounds. Our two-sided version is printed on heavy cardstock with hand-applied grommets. Features a small Pre-War Prints logo to identify it as modern. Measures 11" square. Limited, unnumbered edition of 50.QuantityComing soonChristy Mathewson Tuxedo Tobacco Advertising Sign
$14.00
$16.00
This beautiful advertisement was originally used on trolley cars around 1910. Our reproduction stays true to the original in many ways, but features rounded corners, and is reduced to approximately 50% of the original size for ease of display. Printed on heavy cardstock. Measures 10" x 5 1/4". Limited, numbered edition of 50.QuantityComing soon"1914-15" J.H. Dugan Series 1 Set (6 Cards)
$10.00
1 reviewsThe artwork for these beautiful cards is taken from a cabinet-size set of 1914-15 calendar cards, of which only one example is known to the hobby. What could have been a highly desirable Dead Ball Era issue, it appears the calendar cards never left the proof stage.
But what if this art had been released as contemporary-sized cards? With full-color art, a rare Joe Jackson, and a high percentage of Hall of Famers, we believe they deserve to see the light of day in this format as “a set that never was”.
Set of 6 cards plus a numbered header card measuring 2.25" x 3". Limited to 50 total sets.QuantityComing soon"1937" Diamond Match Co. Cards & Boxes
$3.99 - $7.99
$9.00
2 reviewsWhat if... after printing baseball-player matchbooks in 1935 and 1936, The Diamond Match Co. began printing cards and inserting them into matchboxes? This offering explores that possibility with five "1937" cards, following Diamond's recognizable branding.
Available in combinations of cards and vintage Diamond matchboxes, or available as a full set of cards. Cards measure approximately 1 1/4" x 2 7/8". Total print run is limited to 75 sets of cards.View more details...SelectQuantityComing soon"1915 Zeenut" Babe Ruth Card
$5.00
$6.00
1 reviewsWhat if... Zeenut produced cards for the major leagues in addition to their regional, PCL offering? It's a fascinating concept considering the originals were issued over a span of nearly 30 years and consist of more than 3,000 cards. That in mind, our first fantasy Zeenut card features The Babe himself. Card measures approximately 2" x 3.75". Stamped with the Pre-War Prints seal and hand numbered out of 50.QuantityComing soon1869 Peck & Snyder Red Stockings Card (Reprint)
$12.00
The "first baseball card" is one that belongs in everyone's collection. An authentic copy may not fit all budgets, so we created a faithful reproduction that can be proudly displayed in place of the 152 year-old original. Marked "MMXX" on the reverse to identify it as modern. Card measures 4.5" x 3.25" and is hand-numbered out of an edition of 25.QuantityComing soon"1919" Colgan's Chips Cards
$3.00 - $3.99
$5.00
What if... Colgan's had continued inserting round cards into their chewing gum tins after 1912? Is it likely we would have seen a card issued for Babe Ruth, and an updated card issued featuring Joe Jackson as a member of the White Sox? We think so!
Black and white cards measure 1.5" in diameter. Edition of 100 per player. Cards are hand numbered on the reverse.SelectQuantityComing soon"E206" Piedmont Confectionery Co. Cards (First Series)
$3.00 - $20.00
2 reviewsWhat if... Piedmont had been the purveyors of the classic caramel popcorn treat we all love? And what if Piedmont had inserted cards into it's confectionery treat in 1914? Might the result have been the red front designs we're familiar with, on traditional tobacco-sized cards? Clearly a fantasy, but we had fun imagining the issue we're calling “E206". Two classics, with no need to worry about caramel staining. First Series is limited to 1,000 total cards and consists of 22 player photos. Each "pack" contains one, randomly selected T206-sized card. Full sets do not come in wrappers.View more details...SelectQuantityComing soonT206.org Back Advertisers Reprint Set (18)

$10.00
2 reviewsWith this card we pay tribute to the man considered by historians to be the first openly black man to play Major League Baseball. "Fleet" Walker made his debut in May, 1884 and would play 42 games that year for Toledo of the American Association. While he never played again in the big leagues, he remained in professional ball until 1889, and was the last African-American to play in the International League until Jackie Robinson in 1946.

$5.00
$18.00
Our tribute to the original J.H. Dugan calendar cards from 1914-15 is based upon the “only known representations,” which sold for $143,400 in Heritage's November 2013 Sports Collectibles Auction (see http://bit.ly/jhdugan). Like the originals, our versions measure 5.5" x 10", but we've added a tear-away calendar for all months December 2020 through December 2021.

$18.00
If there ever was a time to be a "fly on the wall", this might be it. Capturing a meeting between two legends of baseball, the final offering in our monthly print series has been faithfully colored from a black-and-white original. Cobb and Jackson, respectively, represent #1 and #3 on the career batting leaders list.
Edition #19 is an archival giclée on 100% cotton Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Hand deckled edge. Hand-numbered. Final print run determined by the number of orders placed. Orders will be accepted until 12:00pm ET on April 14, 2023. All prints will ship before April 21, 2023. Will not be reprinted. Paper size: 12" x 10". In a career spanning 21 years, Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie claimed the AL batting crown five times and was the third player ever to reach 3,000 hits. His lifetime .338 average is tied for 16th all-time, and he is considered one of the greatest second basemen to ever play the game. While this image is not from Nap's most famous or valuable card, we think this colorful T3 is one of the most beautiful.

$18.00
Breaking a bit from our "pre-war" construct, Edition No. 17 features a bold, instantly recognizable image of Ted Williams. In his 19-year Major League career, broken twice by wartime service, he was a 19-time All-Star, six-time batting champion, two-time Triple Crown winner, and finished his career with a .344 average. Williams is the last player to hit over .400 in a season. This image highlights the simple beauty of the 1948 (or 1949) Leaf Baseball set.
Edition #17 is an archival giclée on 100% cotton Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Hand deckled edge. Hand-numbered. Final print run determined by the number of orders placed. Will not be reprinted. Paper size: 12" x 10". Image size appx: 5.25" x 8.5".

$18.00
Though timeless in any format, there is something magical about a full color image of an in-action Babe Ruth. The photo upon which this print is based, likely from the early 1920's, was subsequently used on a few trading card issues, notably the 1932 Sanella postcard.

This is a passion project of life-long baseball fans with a love of the game and it's history, and an appreciation for artwork and collectibles. We believe that, if done correctly, 'new' goods don't have to be ephemeral and can still have the same beauty and quality as the 'old' items we hold in such high regard.
Why one print per month?
Rather than have a store with an unlimited supply of open-run prints, we feel that limiting an edition by the actual interest from the baseball community is a fun way to create limited artwork that holds intrinsic value. Our promise to you is that we'll never reprint any of the art. With each print being hand-numbered, you'll know exactly what you have and how many exist.
How are print runs determined?
The final edition is determined by the number of orders placed during the month-long sales window. If 50 prints are ordered, we will print, number and fulfill 50 prints. Same goes for 100 or even 17. We want demand to drive the supply.
What size are the prints? Are they easy to frame?
While the actual image area will vary in size by edition, all of our editions are printed on standard size 10"x12" paper with beautiful deckled edges, We chose this size because it offers the owner many off-the-shelf framing options. Artwork — especially baseball artwork! — should be displayed. Standard framing sizes make it possible to do so very economically.
How is the art printed?
Our editions are archival giclées printed with fade-resistant inks on 100% cotton Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper. The edges are hand deckled and each print is numbered by hand. With proper care, the prints should last a lifetime.
How are the prints shipped?
Prints are carefully packaged and shipped flat in an archival sleeve, much like a baseball card would be. This packaging doubles as a safe, archival storage option.
What inspired Pre-War Prints?
There are so many incredible baseball-related "makers" out there creating timeless goods, and each should be recognized and thanked for what they do. Special shouts to: Graig Kreindler, Huntinginton Base Ball Co., Pillbox Bat Company, Mitchell Bat Company, Fielder's Choice Goods, Ebbets Field Flannels, and Oxford Pennant, Gary C, (and many others!) for keeping the dream alive and being a huge inspiration. And thanks to Baseball Card Vandals for the chuckles.
